Official Veterinarians

As an OV, you will be required to inspect consignments, check the supporting documentation provided and then sign the Export Health Certificates. You will also need to be able to answer questions from exporters. You may based at a single depot, or travel around to a number of different sites.

A good eye for detail, a flexible attitude and willingness to travel are key skills. Experience is not essential as we can provide full training to supplement that provided in the OV (PX) course. Throughout your career with us you will have the support of an experienced team and your regional managers.

We can accommodate full time, part time or zero hours/locum positions, including sole traders and contractors. You must be MRCVS eligible, although we can also arrange certificate of sponsorship/visa for overseas applicants.

Certification Support Officers

CSOs help our OVs to carry out their inspections of the goods and supporting documentation and are normally based at a single depot. We can consider full time, part time or zero hours/locum positions.

To be eligible to be a CSO, you must have one or more of:- a degree, science A-levels, vet nurse qualification or food industry experience. You will also need to pass the OCQ (CSO) course.
