What product can I send to what country?

Posted by andrewivesonadmin | Posted 24th June 2019 | Blog, and News

There are over 1,500 different EHCs (export health certificates) available, that cover the export of all types of different animal products to countries all over the world. These cover the commoner products such as dairy to Australia or USA and pork to China etc as well as the more obscure ones such as pet food to Nigeria and feathers to Sri Lanka and even used leather riding boots to Iceland or fire fighting foam to Taiwan!

The EHCs are split into several commodities –

  • Meat – including fresh and frozen red and white meat, offal and processed meat
  • Dairy – including milk, yoghurt, cream, butter, whey protein, cooking sauces, baby food
  • Hides, skins, wool, feathers, lanolin
  • Egg
  • Gelatin, collagen and casings
  • Fish and fishery products
  • Pet food and animal feeds
  • Laboratory
  • Miscellaneous products

To search, we have two options on our website.

1 – Use our unique export tool. Search by product to bring up a list of countries where it can be sent to, and the select the EHC(s) available.

2- Use our interactive map. Choose your country first, then select your product, and finally the available EHC(s) will be shown.

What to do next
Once you have found the certificate you need, get in touch with us for further advice about the next steps you need to take. Please note EHCs are regularly added, amended or withdrawn for various reasons including disease outbreaks and political unrest. We endeavour to keep the list as up to date as possible, but the Centre for International Trade (part of DEFRA), who issue the physical certificates to us, have the final authority on which EHCs are available at any time.

If you cannot find the certificate you are looking for, please contact us so we can advise on how to get it or what alternatives options you can look for. It may be that a new EHC needs to be created (which can sometimes be done, if a slow process) or that you do not an EHC from us as alternative documentation may be adequate.
