Andrew Iveson has recently undertaken a day long training course on all aspects of export documentation. This course was organised though the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and was run by trainer Jeff Lewis.
What did the course cover?
There was an overview of the other documents needed and terms used, which countries they apply to and where they may be obtained from, for example :-
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list
- Preferential trade documents eg ATR1 and GSP form A
- Arab certificate of origin
- EC certificate of origin
- Certificate of free sale
- Shipping documents eg bill of lading, airway bill
- Pre-inspection certificate
- INCOTERMS
- Tariff/commodity codes
How will this help us?
Of course we know the health certificate (EHC) side of things inside out, but we also want to gain a greater understanding of the whole export business and the other requirements that must be met. This will help us to work closely with you at all stages of the process for a smooth export, particularly if you are a new exporter or looking at a new market.
What do I do next?
The EHC is a key document – if there is no EHC for your product to go to the country you are looking at, there is little point in arranging all the other documentation only to find at the last minute that the export cannot go ahead.
