Amivet team expands with new official vets

Posted by andrewivesonadmin | Posted 21st May 2018 | Blog, News, and Team Updates

The Amivet official vet team has expanded recently, with two new fully qualified official veterinarians (OVs) now working with us. This will give us greater coverage geographically, and also better flexibility and availability when required.

All our OVs are fully trained and approved by DEFRA and APHA and are appointed to the ‘PX panel’ (product exports), allowing them to certify goods such as meat, dairy, fish, egg, hides, gelatin and many more. We are required to revalidate our training every few years and also keep up to date with continuing professional development in the subject area.

We also carry out internal audits and checks to ensure that we are all working to the same consistent high standard to ensure that your export health certificates (EHCs) are all completed in the same way. Although we would normally aim that you have one main contact, we work closely together to ensure cover whenever you need it.

Our team is currently composed as follows:-

Andrew Iveson MRCVS

Director of Amivet, Andrew is based near Manchester and heads our OV team. He has been working in the export certification field for over 14 years now, with vast experience in a wide range of commodities being exported all over the world. He deals with new client queries, bookings and invoicing, as well as liaising with industry bodies and trade associations.

Jemma Webley MRCVS

Jemma is based in Yorkshire and has been working with Amivet for 3 years and is well known to many of our clients. She is still involved in some clinical work and outside of work enjoys gardening and open water swimming.

Ella Miles MRCVS

Based near Market Harborough, Leicestershire, Ella joined the team in 2017 to cover the Midlands area. She still carries out some clinical work. Married to an arable farmer, with 3 children, she is kept busy in her spare time helping to run the farm.

Pippa Elliott MRCVS

Pippa lives in North West London and joined Amivet in 2017. As well as running a veterinary copywriting business, she is still involved in clinical work too. She covers many of our clients in and around London.

As Amivet continues to grow, we are also looking for other OVs in other locations, who are interested in joining us. If you are not PX qualified, then training can be provided. Please contact us with an up to date CV. For further information, see meet the team.
