Elena Pavel MRCVS has been appointed as Senior Technical Lead at Amivet. Elena joins the senior leadership team and will lead technical delivery across export certification, import controls, and regulatory assurance.
Elena brings extensive industry experience in veterinary public health, with a strong focus on import controls and SPS compliance. Her background spans official controls, border processes, and technical decision-making for products of animal origin, supporting both EU and non-EU trade routes. She has worked closely with competent authorities, businesses, and logistics partners to manage compliance in high-risk and time-sensitive environments.
Throughout her career, Elena has been heavily involved in import controls, including health requirements for POAO, disease status considerations, and the practical application of safeguard measures. She is known for her structured, evidence-based approach and her ability to translate complex regulation into workable solutions for operators.
In her new role, Elena will oversee technical standards, decision making frameworks, and audit-led assurance across Amivet’s services. She will support the veterinary and technical teams, strengthen consistency in certification and import advice, and help customers navigate complex multi-country supply chains.
Speaking about her appointment, Elena said she is committed to maintaining high technical standards while ensuring advice remains practical and proportionate to risk. She added that strong import controls and clear regulatory interpretation are critical to protecting public health while enabling efficient trade.
Amivet Exports provides Export Health Certification, POAO import consultancy, auditing, and farm-to-fork compliance support to customers across the UK and Europe. The business combines close client support with strong technical depth, operating within the wider IVC Evidensia Farm Vets network.
