The Amivet team has expanded recently, with two extra new fully qualified official veterinarians (OVs) now working with us. We also have two new Certification Support Officers (CSOs) on board. This will give us greater coverage geographically, and also better flexibility and availability when required, particularly should the workload increase dramatically in the event of a ‘no-deal’ Brexit. We also have links with a number of other OVs in other parts of the UK for ad-hoc inspections, if needed.
All our OVs and CSOs are fully trained and approved by DEFRA and APHA and the OVs are appointed to the ‘PX panel’ (product exports), allowing them to certify goods such as meat, dairy, fish, egg, hides, gelatin and many more. We are required to revalidate our training every few years and also keep up to date with continuing professional development in the subject area.
The CSO is a new role created by DEFRA – CSOs can carry out physical inspections of goods and collate documents, however the final certificate will still be checked and signed by an OV.
We also carry out internal audits and checks to ensure that we are all working to the same consistent high standard to ensure that your export health certificates (EHC) are all completed in the same way. Although we would normally aim that you have one main contact, we work closely together to ensure cover whenever you need it.
Our new team members are listed below:-
As Amivet continues to grow, we are also looking for other OVs or CSOs in other locations, who are interested in joining us. If you are not PX qualified, then training can be provided. Please contact us with an up to date CV. For further information and a full list of our team, see meet the team.
